Roy Morgan’s Risk Monitor measures trust and distrust, focusing on the brands Australians interact with and their feelings towards them. Australians provide us with an unprompted yet detailed list of brands they trust or distrust and the reasons they feel that way – in their own words.

From a base of around 1,000 different brands mentioned each year, we track over 200 brands across 26 industries that are mentioned with regularity. For brands or industries with less mentions, we also conduct deep-dive surveys to understand Australians' perceptions and drivers of these at a deeper level.

Roy Morgan’s latest Risk Monitor data for the 12 months to March 2022 shows that Bendigo Bank is the most trusted bank in Australia, while the big four remain in distrust territory. PayPal continues to top the trusted key financial service brands, with AMP still trying to recover from previous scandals.
